CARE FOR YOUR JEWELRY
Just like anything else your jewelry must be maintained. This will help prevent silver tarnish build-up, a dulling that naturally occurs when silver reacts with sulfur or hydrogen sulfide in the ambient air. To clean your silver, use polishes formulated specifically to remove tarnish. You can find fine silver polishes, solutions, or cloths appropriate to remove tarnish at most hardware stores or specialty craft stores. Tarnish is most easily removed when it first becomes visible. Although wearing your silver jewelry often is the best way to prevent tarnish from building up, regular cleanings of all your silver items will prevent tarnish and keep your silver bright and shiny. Think of your wedding ring and how it must be cleaned about every 6 months. The plating must be re-dipped, etc. This is the same concept. Your pH level will vary the frequency of cleanings. With tender love & care, your silver will last a lifetime. To minimize scratches and other damage, store your silver jewelry either in a cloth pouch or in a separate compartment in your jewelry box. Avoid exposing your silver to household chemicals when cleaning with bleach or ammonia, or when swimming in chlorinated water, as these chemicals can damage

ALUMINUM METAL
When aluminum first hit the commercial market in the early 1800s and it was more expensive than gold and platinum. Luxurious and well renowned, aluminum was the metal of choice for the shining capstone of the Washington Monument, for framing stained glass within the Library of Congress, and for Napoleon III of France’s banquet utensils for honored guests (the less notable had to make do with forks of gold). Today, the process for making aluminum has been refined and is common in commercial applications. And it’s significantly cheaper than in 1865. Aluminum has proven to be extremely valuable for its durability, corrosion resistance, and its light weight. It’s used in transportation, packaging, construction, housewares, and jewelry making. Yup! Maybe not all that often, but this mighty metal has myriad uses for our industry. Aluminum is easy to cast, making it ideal for light-weight jewelry pieces and findings. Plus, it’s an abundant metal, so it’s also light on the pocketbook. The metal’s light-weight composition also means no added bulk to your designs. Plus, it has a bright finish, won’t tarnish or oxidize, and is hypoallergenic. (The Studio)

COPPER METAL
Copper is an essential mineral found in plant life and in the human body and it is also a metal alloy with a reddish-orange color. Pure copper is very soft and malleable and is combined with other metals, such as brass and bronze, for use in jewelry and other uses. Copper is used as a heat conductor, in medical instruments, and has been used as a decorative coating of famous gates, such as the Temple of Jerusalem, sculptures, and statues, most notably, The Statue of Liberty, the largest copper statue in the world. Since 100% of copper can be recycled without any loss of its original mined quality, it is the third most recycled metal. Over 80% of the copper mined since it was discovered thousands of years ago is still in use today. When copper tarnishes, a beautiful green patina covers the piece. You can buff this out with a copper polishing cloth. You may purchase these almost anywhere online. Make sure not to touch other metals with this because it will leave a film on the aluminum and silver metals. Pure copper is allergy-safe, though since it is so soft, it may be alloyed with nickel when it is made into jewelry, t’s lovely to wear.

PEWTER
Pewter might be considered to be the inverse of bronze. Instead of copper with a little tin, it is tin with a little copper. This may be an oversimplification since other minor ingredients may include antimony, bismuth, or silver, but it is decidedly nickel-free. Tin, itself has quite a noble history, and is actually classified as a precious metal. Although pewter used to be combined with lead, it no longer is. ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
STERLING SILVER
Although 925 Sterling Silver is often nickel-free, it is not always nickel-free. What the number means is that 92.5% of the metal is pure silver, the remaining 7.5% is copper, and trace elements of some other metal that is used as a hardener. This trace metal may be zinc, tin, boron, lithium, germanium, platinum, indium, or it may be nickel. ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
FONTS, SYMBOLS, CHARMS & PEARL COLOR
Date formation will appear as 00.00.00. For a preview of numbers and letters for each font please visit our “About Page.” Here you will also find a sample list of our charms and pearl colors. Charms are added to the shop almost daily. It is near impossible to keep a list up to date. Please leave a note to the seller of the charm you would like. If I do not have it, I will order it or pick it up at a local shop. Please note that if we do not have the charm you are requesting that you are subject to a 3-5 day delay in your order. You will be notified immediately if this applies to you. Please note that if you do not leave your font choice in the “notes to the seller” the default font that will be used on your order will be the font shown in the picture of the sample item. This applies to the text of any item as well. If you need to personalize any item you may do so. In addition to changes of font and text you may also change the type of metal. The pictures shown for sale are an example of past items. Heel Lilies™ makes each item “made to order” meaning we have the ability to switch aluminum for copper and so on. You can change the necklace to a keychain; change the layout of an item; or simply change the message. Please keep in mind that if you are changing aluminum or copper to sterling silver or pewter the price will increase based on current market value. To upgrade your chain to sterling silver will cost an additional $10.00 fee. This will include sterling silver pieces such as jump rings and split rings and other miscellaneous parts of the ensemble.
